November 29, 2005 Lois Schumacher, the "Diabetes Prevention Program" expert from Bristol Bay Area Health Corp., spent a few days in Pedro Bay to teach us about diabetes and good eating habits. Participants were treated to lots of fresh fruit, created art with fruit, played diabetes bingo, and received t-shirts, pedometers, whistles, fanny packs, yo-yos and water bottles and healthy foods for door prizes.

January 11, 2006 Mount Augustine volcano had several minor eruptions this morning. It is located 36 miles from Pedro Bay, if the sky clears of clouds the webcam should show a good view of the plume.

August 2006 "Pedro Bay's first garden tour" took place on August 12th. Two skiff loads of folks visited Barbara Atwater's and Michael Featherstone's gardens. Then everyone hopped onto fourwheelers to visit the gardens of Karen Pippen, Roz Goodman, Christine Osolnik, Dolly Jacko, Rebecca Jensen and Ben Foss. It was one of the few "no rain, no wind" days this month.
